about

This is the last of the “That’s Not How Tommy Played It” series of EP’s. Recorded in one evening in Lax Kxeen (Prince Rupert, BC), the sound is that of the old-time recordings from yesteryear. One stereo microphone plugged straight into a reel-to-reel tape machine is all folks needed to capture the old-time fiddlers of the past. That exact same setup is all Saltwater Hank needs too. On this release, vocal duties are shared between Saltwater Hank and his good pal Rusty Mould (who also appeared on Vol. 3 of this series.) The two sat knee-to-knee in the living room with the mic setup between them, enjoying the odd swig of whiskey between takes. Everything was done in real-time. No overdubs. No editing. No post production. This is just real, unpolished & raw old-time music.
